John Dillinger, one of the country's most captivating and infamous outlaws is the centerpiece of this film. From award winning director Michael Mann (Heat and Collateral) comes this haunting and intriguing look into one of the most elusive gangsters ever!
Johnny Depp stars as Dillinger himself playing the charismatic and ever so charming role to a tee. Depp, who has been known to be cast for odd and colorful characters in films including Captian Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean. Also Starring in Sweeny Todd, Edward Scissorhands, and Charlie and the Chocolate factory to name a few, works his magic again. He delivers a performance so good you feel as if you might know John Dillinger personally. Johnny Depp shows exactly why he has hollywood staying power.
Marked by the FBI as America's first "Public Enemy Number One" the infamous outlaw bank robber John Dillinger and FBI agent Melvin Purvis Played by (Christian Bale: Batman Begins, Dark Knight, Terminator Salvation) play a cat and mouse game that is bound to catch up to someone. Escalating a pursuit always seeming to outwit and out gun the FBI, Purvis closes in for a legendary showdown.
This tale comes to life in the Public Enemies movie and shows the viewer the very human side of Dillinger when being introduced into the story is Billie Frechette, played by the beautiful Marion Cotillard (Academy Award Winner La Vie en Rose) the only woman to capture his heart. For a Gangster film this one is defiantly worth watching.
