Actor, director Clint Eastwood does it again in this intense drama that is sure to pull on your heart strings. Set in present day Detroit Clint Eastwood tells the story of an aging mostly bitter Korean War veteran. Tackling the changing cultural dynamics of America and an economically challenged city, Walt played by Eastwood can only watch as more and more ethnic families more into "his" neighborhood.

After the passing of his wife Walt's family are always quick to remind him that he's not getting any younger, he soon finds out that he may have more in common with a Hmong family next door. Even as a self proclaimed racist who's never heard an insult he didn't like, Walt begins to spend more and more time with his new found friends. But it isn't until he has a run in with a local gang that is trying to recruit the teenage boy from next door that Walt realizes he can make a difference young mans life.

Soon all the neighbors embrace Walt as he stand up for what is right instead of spewing his common racial slurs common throughout the film. Dubbed as a hero among many Walt slowly encourages his young friend to stand up for himself and do something with his life instead of taking orders from everyone.

With a little flare of Dirty Harry and some compassion found like that in the movie Million Dollar Baby, this movie finds the uncommon bond only found deep within one's self, a bond that brings people closer than family. I highly recommend you watch this film; you won't be disappointed, it is sure to be one of Eastwood's great works.
